Brain-Weasel Archery Targets

Note: The Brain-weasels were originally published on a domain that I no longer own. The images have not been updated to reflect the current URL.

Brain-weasels like to run a script in our minds that tell us lies about ourselves, or remind us of horrific experiences that we may have difficulty overcoming. As a DV survivor, and 3-time congestive heart failure survivor, I continue the process of battling my own brain-weasels through the practice of art journaling and writing.

At the request of a Navy veteran, I drew an archery target depicting a brain-weasel. This time, the brain-weasel is the protagonist. This brain-weasel is the one you want to listen to. He is going to help you clear your mind by helping you focus on a small affirmation designed to change the narrative in your mind. When your mind begins to ruminate, think about the healthy reminders that our protagonist brain-weasel has provided.

To use the targets, download them and print them on 8.5" x 11" sheets of paper. Attach them to a target at the archery range. As you aim, focus your energy on reaching the affirmation. I pray the intense focus on a positive affirmation will help you have a paradigm shift toward healing.

To my Navy veteran friend, and to all veterans, thank you for your service to our country. The price of serving our country is high. You have paid that price on our behalf. I drew these targets for you to thank you.

Wishing you peace, hope and encouragement.

Always,

Renee Clark
